I think this is one of the best worded letters I have recently read.

This is one of those forwarded and re forwarded emotional messages.
I doubt the earlier attribution of being from the originally named 4^th Grade Teacher;

BUT, She speaks boldly and is not afraid to take credit for it.

I have removed her name and phone number from the end!

This letter will hopefully embolden more Americans to wake up and speak with pride, and actually care about what needs to happen to keep our nation great.

Be proud of your United States of America.

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally. You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America. You are responsible to the citizens of the United States.

You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth.. I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe?

Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about?

Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century? Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?

Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia. You don't show Great Britain, our best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve, yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia. How dare you, sir!

You can't find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation because you don't want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque in Turkey. You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from themselves. What's the matter with you?

I am convinced that you and the members of your administration have the historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you. You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members -- on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer.

You haven't said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn't! Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period -- that's $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million -- not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven't you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now.

I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring
about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting
increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know that I personally
find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my
sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not
get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.

CHEAP TOMATOES? Really?

CHEAP TOMATOES?

This should make everyone think, be you Democrat, Republican or Independent.

"As you listen to the news about the student protests over illegal immigration, there are some things that you should be aware of:

I am in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department at a large southern California High school which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socioeconomic and income levels.

Most of the schools you are hearing about, South Gate High, Bell Gardens , Huntington Park , etc., where these students are protesting, are also Title 1 schools.

Title 1 schools are on the free breakfast and free lunch program. When I say free breakfast, I'm not talking a glass of milk and roll -- but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make a Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten.

I estimate that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have cell phones. The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls (some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for baby-sitters or having family watch their kids.

I was ordered to spend $700,000 on my department or risk losing funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything. My budget was already substantial. I ended up buying new computers for the computer learning center, half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America .

I have had to intervene several times for young, and substitute teachers, whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country less then 3 months who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them "Putas" whores and throwing things that the teachers were in tears.

Free medical, free education, free food, day care etc., etc., etc. Is it any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements?

To those who point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper, and they like to pay less for tomatoes.... spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs.

Higher insurance; medical facilities closing; higher medical costs; more crime; lower standards of education in our schools; overcrowding; new diseases etc., etc, etc.

For me, I'll pay more for tomatoes.
We need to wake up.

The guest worker program will be a disaster because we won't have the guts to enforce it . Does anyone in their right mind really think they will voluntarily leave and return?

It does, however, have everything to do with culture: A third-world culture that does not value education; that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15; refuses to assimilate; and our American culture that has become so weak and worried about "political Correctness," that we don't have the will to do anything about it.

If this makes your blood boil, as it did mine, forward this to everyone you know.

CHEAP LABOR? Isn't that what the whole immigration issue is about?

Business doesn't want to pay a decent wage.

Consumers don't want expensive produce.

Government will tell you Americans don't want the jobs.

But the bottom line is cheap labor. The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a total lie.

There is no such thing as "cheap labor"!!!

Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children. He takes a job for $5.00 or 6.00/hour. At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return, he gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.
He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent.

He qualifies for food stamps..
He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care.
His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school.

He requires bilingual teachers and books.
He qualifies for relief from high energy bills.
If they are, or become, aged, blind or disabled, they qualify for SSI. Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare . All of this is at (our) taxpayer's expense .

He doesn't worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance.

Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material. He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to $30.00/hour in benefits.

Working Americans are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00/hour left after paying their bills and his.
The American taxpayers also pay for increased crime, graffiti and trash clean-up.

Cheap labor? YEAH RIGHT! Wake up people!
THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS WE SHOULD BE ADDRESSING TO EITHER PARTY. 'AND WHEN THEY LIE TO US AND DON'T DO AS THEY SAY, WE SHOULD REPLACE THEM AT ONCE!'

THIS EXAMPLE HAS TO BE SHARED WITH AS MANY AS POSSIBLE, OR WE WILL ALL GO DOWN THE DRAIN, BECAUSE A FEW OF THE "LEADERSHIP IN WASHINGTON", DON'T CARE.

This is a classic example and ongoing consequence of the "Community Organizer Mentality". Do not be deluded by glib and eloquent rhetoric.

Washington in totally infected with the mentality that has allowed this type of situation to evolve.

Did you actually vote for these leaders and their leadership?

Is this what each of you want to be continued and expanded?

On Monday May 26, 2008, exactly one year ago, I posted the following on my blogsite.

Today the father of a friend, and fellow Christian passed away.
In looking for some words of comfort, I was struggling with something to say that would not be just a momentary sound, among many at this moment.

I thought about the passing of each of my parents, my wife's parents, my daughter; and then I recalled The Dash

In July 2006, a short 3-minute movie was launched on the Internet called The Dash. Since then, over 40 million people from around the world have watched it and over 20,000 a day continue to watch it as a result of people passing it along.

The movie has been more successful than we could have ever imagined. More importantly, however, it has inspired many people to reflect on their lives and ask that all important question:

Angel Food Ministries - Follow-up

It seems that after almost 48 months of silence and shunning any positive comments, the Lake Charles American Press decided something was worthy to print.

They picked up a negative only AP release and reprinted it on Saturday, 3/7/09, in the regional Religion News page.

At that time, I was preparing a letter to about 800 local Angel Food Ministries participants, to remind them that there is an upcoming March 13 order deadline for placing their orders, when this matter was published.

Here is my letter and my own response:

Along with our attempt to be of service to SW Louisiana during the aftermath of 3 hurricanes with relief; "WHY NOW?", would the owners and editors of this publication selectively discount something that has been so beneficial to each of you?

We, at this Church of Christ, at Maplewood, in Sulphur, LA, have been closely monitoring all events and developments.
There are very positive and convincing developments, that insure the continuing growth of this outstanding program.

Angel Food Ministries

This is the lead-in paragraph of an interesting and rather complete summary of events of the last few weeks.

"ATLANTA (AP) — For more than a decade, Angel Food Ministries seemed like a godsend for families who purchased its low-cost food boxes and the churches that shared millions in revenue for distributing the goods."

As many of you know, I post the availability of the monthly Angel Food Ministries menu on the church website and on my own website and have been involved for 48 months with this ministry being a part of the serious community activities of the Church of Christ at Maplewood (Sulphur), Louisiana.

In fact this congregation was the very first Louisiana location to offer this excellent food ministry.

Since the FBI "raid" was reported, I have been attempting to read and evaluate any information that has been released anywhere (and I mean anywhere), concerning "Angel Food Ministries".

I receive from 5 to 20 reports every day that involve one or many more locations that have something to say about "Angel Food Ministries".

First; I am amazed at the number of newspapers that actually and regularly report about the availability of the "Food Boxes" at some local location. This information is "news" and as such is shared with their respective communities.

(No so down here in SW Louisiana, unfortunately. We actually pay from $150 to $185 per month to advertise the availability of the new month offerings. No free comments to the public down here.)

The locations that reveal the emotions of the recipients of the $30.00 food box, is truly good to read about. Also the progressive attitudes and increasing numbers of people that benefit from this program, confirms my own belief that this is a serious worthwhile endeavor; at least for my own ministry and participation.

I prepare and distribute the monthly Angel Food Ministries menu; and then usually by email and fax to about 800 individuals and institutions, for their sharing with friends, family and associates. This is twice each month to inform order and pick-up dates and to encourage participation. The responses from many of these people, clearly show that they really feel that they are "blessed" by this program; and many write me telling me this emotionally.

After a lengthy; and continuing review daily, of the published, and some direct communications, about Angel Food Ministries; I strongly and prayerfully continue to support, and participate in this ministry.

I certainly hope you will do so also.

Mad Cow Disease Also Caused By Genetic Mutation

This article is interesting; but it is hard to read. The conclusions are much too simply stated. The "what if" and "however" and even "maybe we should"; are left to each of us to pursue in our own thinking.

I would prefer the known tests to find or not find the presence of BSE in cattle; either from the new blood tests now being tested on live cattle; or from the proven post-mortem testing like that which Creekstone Farms wants to use for all of their cattle slaughtered (which is being denied by our own FDA), be used for my meat purchases.

Yes, I would rather have the choice to purchase meat tested (like from Creekstone Farms) than from ranches that claim their beef is "safe also", because it is not being tested for something that cannot be detected (so far). That is just "CYA" and is convoluted logic.

We will need to know the DNA of untested cattle to be sure their genetics are not of the last known strain of cows that could be carriers of BSE, CJD/vCJD.

Key DNA may lead to BSE blood test

When I read the following lead-in to this article, I had to re-read the entire article twice:

A reasonably accurate method of testing live cattle for bovine spongiform
encephalopathy (BSE) would likely be the grail of BSE research. ...

Think about how, if proven to be valid, this certification of being "BSE FREE" would end the difficulties of exporting our beef to say ... Japan; like Creekstone Farms has endured these many years.

Research and the university researchers should (could) probably be utilized to assist the FDA and various state agencies, in the inspection and certification of food processing plants around the country (around the world). Possibly in avoiding the recent peanut salmonella screw-up in Georgia.

Think about it. Then start to communicate with some of the decision makers in your state legislature, and in Washington. You know that I will be doing so.
